Learning some useful habits won’t take much efforts from you  and will help you, help the environment and hence helping the people around you…

  • Turn your Tank Water Heater on only half an hour before taking your bath.

  • Or install a Timer for heating the water in the night and make it ready for your morning shower.

  • If you can improve the insulation around your tank and your hot water pipes, Electricity consumption will tremendously decrease.

  • Keep your Electric Tank Water Heater well maintained by regularly servicing it following its manufacturer guidelines.

  • Upgrade your Electric Water Heater by purchasing a new one with Higher Efficiency or by replacing it with a Solar Water Heater.

  • The most recommended Thermostat setting for your Water Heater is by Adjusting it on 48° Celsius.

Lights:

  • Get used to always turn off the lights of the unused areas.

  • Reduce Your Bulb Wattage, use lower Wattage Bulbs where the lights are so glaring and unnecessarily Bright.

  • Use Dimmer Switches where your light can be dimmed whenever needed.

  • Whenever possible, use Sunlight rather than Electric Bulbs.

  • Replace your old Light Bulbs by modern LED or CFL Bulbs.

  • Keep your Bulbs and Lamps always clean, cleaner lamps are more efficient.

  • Switch to Solar Lightings where possible.

Electric Appliances:

  • Always unplug the Electric Appliances that are not in use.

  • Don't leave your TVs, Computers, Receivers or similar devices on Standby Power Mode.

  • Use your Ovens, Fridges and Freezers efficiently and don't keep on opening their doors many times a day.

  • Defrost your Freezers regularly and always ensure that they are as full as possible.

  • Make sure that your Washing Machines and your Dishwashers are fully loaded as much as possible before usage.

  • If you are using an Electric Stove, ensure that the cooking pots and Casseroles are of the same size as the Cooker Hotplates.

  • Turn off your Stove few minutes earlier and keep the cooking Utensils on it until fully cooked.

  • Ensure that your Cooling Appliances like Freezers and Fridges are as far as possible from your Heating Appliances like Ovens, Toasters and Stoves.

  • Don't overfill your Electric Kettles or your Coffee Machines with Water, use the exact amount of Water needed.

  • Keep in mind that all your Electric Appliances that are more than 10 years old, are more Energy Consuming than the new ones, so upgrade your Appliances to the new Energy Rated Efficient ones whenever affordable.
